Toubkal summit, 8 Days Hike
Embark on a thrilling 8-day adventure through Morocco’s majestic High Atlas Mountains, culminating in the ascent of Mount Toubkal (4,167 m)—the highest peak in North Africa. This trek begins and ends in the vibrant city of Marrakech, offering a perfect blend of cultural exploration and high-altitude trekking. Along the way, you’ll pass through picturesque Berber villages, lush valleys, alpine meadows, waterfalls, and rugged mountain passes. You’ll be supported by an experienced team of local guides and muleteers, camping under the stars, and experiencing the warm hospitality of rural Morocco. This trip is ideal for active travelers looking to challenge themselves while discovering the beauty and traditions of the Moroccan Atlas.
DAY 1: Arrive to Marrakech
Transfer from the airport to your accommodation, to meet with other members of the group and you tour guide in the evening. Welcome meeting at 18:00pm
DAY 2: Marrakech – Imi Oughlad (1,355 m) – Tizi Oussem (1,800 m).
We have a 2-hour transfer to Imi Oughlad, where we meet our team of muleteers who will accompany us on this adventure. We begin our hike in a forest of holm oaks, then the ascent begins with Tizi N’Techt 2,000m. We then pass through many villages climging to the mountainside, but always with a magnificent red color of the landscapes . Our first camp is under the trees, next to the River near the village of Tizi Oussem.

DAY 3: Tizi Oussem – Tazaghart Refuge, tizi
We continue our gradual ascent through the juniper groves. Berber villages have given way to highaltitude sheepfolds and terraced crops. We pass through the Tamsoult sheepfolds and the Ighoulidem waterfalls. We arrive at the Tazaghart refuge, near which we camp. The vegetation becomes increasingly sparse, and we arrive at the highaltitude desert.

DAY 4: Tazaghart Refuge – Tizi Aguelzim (3,550 m) – Refuge Toubkal (3,207 m).
A day of walking to reach Toubkal Base Camp. We climb in switchbacks to 3,550 m, at the Aguelzim Pass, we enjoy the superb view landscapes of the entire massif Toubkal mountains, then descend to the Toubkal refuge basecamp near which we camp.

DAY 5: Ascent of the summit Toubkal 40167m
Early morning departure (between 5:00 and 5:30am) for the ascent of Toubkal at 4,167m. It is the highest peak in Morocco and North Africa. From the summit, you can overlook a large part of the Atlas Mountains, with the plain and the desert visible on the horizon. This summit offers a breathtaking view of the Siroua massif and the Imlil valley.

DAY 6: Refuge Basecamp – Armed (1,900 m).
We descend back to the village of Armed via the short route from Imlil. We stop at Sidi Chamharouch for a break and refreshment. Arriving at the village, we say goodbye to our team of muleteers. In the afternoon, we have the opportunity to take a short hike in the surrounding area.

DAY 7: Armed – Marrakech.
In the morning, we’ll walk to Imlil (about an hour), where we’ll pick up our vehicles and return to Marrakech. We’ll check into our accommodation and relax for the afternoon. In the evening we will join a guided tour to explore the Medina, souks and local markets. After the visit join for farewell dinner around Jamaa Elfna square.
